Big Changes & the Launching of Pretty Toxic

It’s been a while since my last post (being my trip to Washington, D.C. for the Salon Week of Action) and that is about to change. Tousled is in the process of being re-vamped, but thank you for your patience in the interim.

Since the Salon Week of Action, huge efforts have been made in the fight to get toxic products, such as the Brazilian Blowout, off the market. Once I returned home, I collaborated across the miles with Jennifer Arce to create our site, Pretty Toxic.

Pretty Toxic serves as a means to protect industry workers and consumers from toxic chemicals in salon beauty products. Since the launching of our site, we have been covering all of the latest information in the effort to remove these products from the market.

Currently, we are trying to get industry publications to spread awareness, while circulating the latest petition that was created to remove toxic smoothing treatments from the market.

I invite you to join us in our efforts – please follow us on Facebook and Twitter. I encourage all of you to participate in our journey by following our endeavors and helping us in this fight.  Your support is always appreciated.

While I can’t control that I was exposed to formaldehyde, or how sick it has made me, I can try to change the industry to make it safer for all of us. That’s what Pretty Toxic is all about – and I am very excited for all that has come of this so far, and all that we have yet to accomplish.
